Program Advocate, Day Habilitation

Toomey Residential and Community Services is committed to assisting individuals to reach their highest level of capability and to increase their opportunities for success through our community based clinical treatment services and programs. 

Part Time position, up to 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday day and evening hours.

Day Habilitation Program Advocates provide support and assistance to adults with disabilities in areas of their daily living, community involvement and recreational activities. Serve as a positive role model for socially acceptable behavior.

Requirements: A clean valid NYS drivers’ license; insured and registered vehicle is required.  High School Diploma or GED required; Associates in Human Services preferred. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in other human service area or in a health care field most helpful. Will be required to successfully complete the OPWDD fingerprinting clearance; have good verbal & written skills.

Clearances: All positions at Toomey Residential and Community Services are required to attend Virtus training within 60 days of hire and to successfully clear the Virtus background check. This position also requires an acceptable State child abuse clearance background check.
