Program Advocate (Liverpool ICF)

Part Time 20 hours per week; Sat & Sun 8a -6p

Part Time 22 hours per week; Mon & Thurs. 4p – 9p, Sat 9a-9p.

Overnight Awake Part Time, 30 hours per week hr Thurs, Fri and Sat 10p-8a.

Major Job Responsibilities: Program Advocates provide support and assistance to adults with disabilities in areas of their daily living, community involvement and recreational activities. Serve as a positive role model for socially acceptable behavior. Assist with household duties and meal preparation. Pass medications.

Education and/or Experience Required at Entry: High School Diploma or GED required; Associates in Human Services preferred. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in other human service area or in a health care field most helpful.

Skills/Abilities:  Basic Computer skills, CPR/FA. Will be required to successfully complete the necessary criminal background clearance; have good verbal & written skills; ability to attend training to become med. certified. Excellent communication skills needed to work with a wide variety of people both within the agency and the community.

Licenses/Certificate/Clearances: Valid N.Y.S. Drivers License and registered vehicle is required.  N.Y.S. Child Abuse Registry clearance.
