After-School & Summer Programs

Activities are designed to help children develop social skills through arts and crafts, cooking, dramatic play, athletics, games, and field trips. Staff members emphasize group skills of communication, cooperation, and conflict resolution. Tutoring and homework support is available.

  • 5 locations: North Salina Street (Northside CYO), Edmund Avenue off Newell Street (Bishop Foery Foundation), Hawley Avenue (Hawley Youth Organization), Westmoreland Avenue (Westmoreland Park Community Center), and Seymour Street (Vincent House).
  • No fee.
  • Eligibility: Children must live in the neighborhood and be willing to abide by center rules and regulations.

  • Good to know: Catholic Charities Centers provide snacks to children in their after-school programs and lunches when school is out.
