Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in other human service area or in a health care field most helpful.Will be required to successfully complete the OMRDD fingerprinting clearance; have good verbal & written skills; ability to attend training to become med. certified.

Foster Parent Coordinator

9 am – 5 pm with some planned evenings/weekends needed to meet the needs of the program

Description
On a continuing basis, recruit, train, certify and monitor qualified foster parents. Develop, coordinate and facilitate recruitment efforts for foster parents. Serve as a resource to foster families and caseworkers. Provide certification, train, assess and support foster parents. Ensure regulations are adhered to and goals are met. Network in the community and serve as liaison with other agencies. Provide necessary documentation and statistics according to funding sources and agency policy and procedures. Attend workshops, trainings and planning meetings.
 
Job Requirements
Major: Human Services or Related Field Experience: At least 3 years relevant experience with an emphasis in the Human Services field. Training experience preferred. Other Requirements: Dependable vehicle for daily work use, computer skills, flexibility for evening hours. Excellent communication skills. Virtus training within 60 days

Includes direct care responsibilities. Maintain records and assist with reporting requirements. Maintain guidelines established by the funding sources and agency policy and procedures.

Job Requirements

with individuals with disabilities; Supervisory experience preferred. Other Requirements:  OMRDD fingerprinting clearance; must have excellent communication skills; ability to
become med. certified and attend Virtus training within 60 days.

Important to note: The following items are needed to secure and/or maintain employment with Toomey Residential and Community Services:

  • Complete Virtus training within 60 days of hire.
  • Successfully clear the Virtus background check.
  • OMRDD or OMH (FBI) fingerprinting clearance may be required.
  • Ability to attend training to become med. certified may be required.
  • NYS drivers license.
  • No more than 4 points on driving record to drive an agency vehicle.
