Volunteer Spotlight: Laura Hand and Moose

by Gracie Barney, Community Relations Specialist

Our wide array of programs provides many different opportunities for volunteers. We are so grateful for all of our volunteers who support our programs and efforts at Catholic Charities. This month, we would like to focus on one of our Vincent House volunteers: Laura Hand & Moose.

Laura volunteers at our Vincent House pre-k classes every other week where she teaches the students different lessons and incorporates lessons with her Emotional Support Animal (ESA), Moose.

Laura and Moose visited Vincent House during their Valentine’s Day party. Laura taught the students about symmetry while making heart shape cut outs. Laura also provided students an opportunity to greet, pet and walk Moose. Laura provided heart shaped ginger cookies for students to decorate and enjoy.

We are deeply grateful to Laura and Moose for sharing their time and talent with our students. We are always looking for volunteers at Catholic Charities. If you are interested learning more about volunteering and how to get involved, please click here: ccoc.us/volunteer
